Konig See ,Berchtesgaden National Park, Bavaria, Germany

This beautiful lake was taken on film about 3 years ago and scanned using a low resolution scanner. I love taking pictures in difficult weather as it brings out mood and colour. I have some photos of the same area taken in July at the height of summer and they are not as nice ( in my view)

Wallaby Cradle Mountain Lake

I am not to up on Australian wildlife but I think this is a wallaby. The shot was taken around Cradle Mountain lake under a thick canopy of trees. The wildlife are completely free and wild but because there is so much respect for the animals they just observe you and never seem to run away.

Rothenburg OB Der Tauber,Bavaria Germany

Probably the best example of a German medieval town. We were there in July and it was very warm, the tourists were just starting to flood the place but the visit was worth it as it is a wonderful place.

Faces in the rock

Interesting rock formations along the coastal walk that starts from the Patagona area , central coast NSW.

The trail to Liffey Falls Tasmania

This water shute is on the trail to Liffey falls in Tasmania. The walk is just beautiful although if the sun is shinning you can get a lot of glare from the actual falls in the morning so not so good for photography. Most of my photographs were "glared out as I had forgotten my polarising filter. Ah well next time. There is something different and magical about the forests in Tasmania, more than just the different trees etc.

The Unkown flower

I Have a garden pond in my back garden ( frog pond by the sound of things), every year the pond becomes profuse with these flowers. I am not sure what they are called, maybe an Iris? maybe someone knows?

Hanging Tree, Gosford NSW

Trees here will grab any vacant spot, some in impossible places. I can never work out how they managed to survive on a rock. I wonder if elsewhere in the world trees manage to find themselves in such precarious places!!

Hunter Valley garden NSW, Japanese section after rain

What a difference rain makes to a photograph, no harsh light or glare with reflections.
I really enjoy photographing after rain in Australia as the light is very strong so you can get goos results from wilderness type shots. Not that a garden is a wilderness

Blue Lake, Snowy mountains NSW one Christmas

Walking in the Snowy mountains one Christmas, was very hot around 30C. Forgot to take alot of water so always dehydrated. My son stops to take a drink. The mountains are not very high, only 2000 M ( 6000 ft) but always snow covered in winter.

A walk in the Watagan mountain forest, NSW

A warm spring days walk through the Watagan forest along one of the the trails. A good spot for a picnic or to contemplate the inner soul

All Saints Church Wittering Cambridgeshire England

This church is very old, it has both Norman and Saxon arches in it. Bear in mind the Normans invaded England in 1066 and the Saxons predate the Normans. I used to sing in this church's choir ( well I tried anyway!).

Parallel Lines, Back of Thornhaugh Cambridgeshire England

This road is at the back of Thornhaugh near the forest where I used to wander as a child. Good memories. We often used to get lost and would wander for hours until we found this road and then we knew we were saved!!.

Japanese garden Gosford

A nice place to meditate if only the crowds where not there

Lily on the water

A lily from Gosford Japanese garden. In yoga a lily is a metaphor for the awakening soul seeing the light and opening the mind, whilst before it remained under water in darkness

NeuSchwanStein Castle Barvaria, Germany

This picture was taken using film and scanned with a low resolution scanner.

The castle is fantastic although the guided tours just push you through as quickly as possible, but still worth a visit. King Ludwig only lived in this castle for a very short while and it nearly sent him bankrupt, but it is now Germany's top tourist destination.

Hunter Valley Gardens

Hunter valley gardens are located just past Cessnock in NSW. The area is know as "Wine Country" due to all the wineries located in that area. If you ever buy an Australian wine overseas and it comes from the Hunter valley you know it comes from very close to this garden

Maitland Bay, View from a bush walk

One of my favourite walks around the NSW central coast as it overlooks and leads to maitland bay. The bay is secluded and only accessable to bush walkers. No noise or rowdy people !
The shot was taken a few years ago as now the trees have obscured the view.

Japanese garden Auburn (Sydney)

This garden is maintained by the local goverment council, it is very beautiful. Unfortunately most people do not realise that it is a place of peace and reflection but they often go there to make noise and play. It used to have free admission but now there is an entry fee.

Pelicans at Patonga Beach.

Pelicans just hanging around at the ferry wharf at Patonga beach on the NSW central cost. These birds are like statues, motionless for ages.
