Kanagra Walls plateaux

The plateau on the right can be traversed and then other walking routes can be be picked up to find your way into the valley or you cam try your luck by bush bashing straight down, a good 3.5 hour effort!!

Kanagra Boyd National Park NSW, Kanagra Walls

This view is taken on the first part of the walk form the end of the road as you start to walk to the beginning of the plateau climb. The whole area is pristine with wedged tail eagles soaring off the warm air currents from the cliff walls. The water in the valleys is crystal clear and lovely to drink but the walking can get quit hard to get down/up from the valley bottom.

The Riverside Hotel, Kendal, Lake District UK

The Riverside Hotel is a quaint old hotel in Kendal, the Lake District. I stayed there last year on a walking trip to the area. Kendal is a town that has a horrible one way system with mad traffic jams during July. Trying to get to the hotel even though you keep passing it is a real accomplishment. I drove around the entire town 3 times before I managed it and then only when I had given up and was leaving the town!!

The second lake at Konigsee, Barvaria Germany

Taken last summer ( Northern hemisphere not southern that is). A lovely walk after you alight the boat from the first lake. Stopped for a cold beer before the walk.

Mountain Peaks Queens Town NZ

Taken from Coronet Peak ski resort. I used a 300mm zoom lens with a tripod to get this picture. One of the main problems photographing up at such altitudes are the ultra violet rays. Unfortunately I do not have a lens for my zoom.

Quad bikes on the mountain Queens Town NZ

This quad bikes are fantastic fun for 4wd driving up the mountains. A highly recommended fun thing to do. They handle slopes, streams and ditches well. The views at the top were literally spectacular.
This one adventure I would do again and again

Queens Town Wharf

A bright sunny morning in Queens Town New Zealand. This picture was taken last week and even though the day was glorious sunshine the temperature was around 4C. Living in Australia these are normally overnight temperatures but you get used to them. It has been along while since I have had to experience the cold as where I live on the NSW central coast the days are much warmer.
New Zealand very much reminds me of the UK ( not the scenery of course). The Kiwi acent is a bit hard to get used to though!!!

Evening approaches at the start of the road into Skippers Canyon

Skippers Canyon in New Zealand is where all the adrenalin activities take place ( well some of them) also some of the Lord of the Rings filming was done there ie the black riders crossing the river in pursuit... because the river in the canyon was to wild for the horses to cross they filmed the crossing elsewhere and merged the lower half with the top view in Skippers canyon.
